Position Summary:

PLAN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by performing a variety of financial and accounting duties. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, assists with financial reporting, and supports month-end and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
  • Enter and process beneficiary bills/invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Prepare voids, stop payments and reissues checks as needed
  • Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of journal entries
  • Assist with IRS letter responses
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
  • Support corporate accounts payable (AP)
  • Assist with audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Prepare year end Form 1099s
  • Maintain statistics/graphs for board meetings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks) and financial reporting tools
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus

Working Conditions

  • In-office work environment
  • Standard business hours (M-F, 9an-5pm)

Compensation

$65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
