Position Summary:
PLAN is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department by performing a variety of financial and accounting duties. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, assists with financial reporting, and supports month-end and year-end close processes.
Responsibilities
- Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Enter and process beneficiary bills/invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare voids, stop payments and reissues checks as needed
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and sub-ledgers
- Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with company policies
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of journal entries
- Assist with IRS letter responses
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
- Support corporate accounts payable (AP)
- Assist with audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
- Help improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Prepare year end Form 1099s
- Maintain statistics/graphs for board meetings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 1–3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks) and financial reporting tools
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with Salesforce a plus

Working Conditions

- Standard business hours (M-F, 9an-5pm)
Compensation
$65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
